If you lived here...
You’d be welcomed by a wonderful sense of character, with original features and warm wooden flooring setting the tone throughout. The spacious through reception is particularly inviting, with natural light pouring through the front bay window, elegant period fireplaces and beautifully crafted built-in cabinetry. There’s plenty of room for both relaxing and entertaining, with the two reception areas flowing naturally into one another. The combination of traditional detailing and thoughtful finishes makes this a space that feels instantly homely.
Towards the rear, the contemporary kitchen brings a lovely contrast, with sage green cabinetry, wooden worktops and tiled splashbacks. Thoughtfully designed with plenty of preparation space and storage, large glazed doors open directly onto the private garden, drawing in daylight and making indoor-outdoor living feel effortless. Outside, a decked terrace provides space for summer dining, while the lawn and established planting add greenery and privacy. Back inside, a ground floor WC and a useful cellar provide welcome practicality alongside the more characterful details.
Upstairs, you’ll find three generously proportioned double bedrooms, each with its own appeal. The principal bedroom enjoys a lovely bay window, original fireplace and built-in storage, while the remaining rooms offer plenty of flexibility for family life, guests or working from home. The spacious family bathroom is another highlight, with a separate bath and walk-in shower, classic white tiling and warm wooden accents creating a calm, timeless finish. Throughout, the house balances period charm with the comforts of modern living beautifully.
What else?

A word from the owner...
"We’ve really enjoyed living on Macdonald Road and having the best of both worlds – excellent connections into central London while still enjoying a real neighbourhood feel and plenty of green space nearby.
Forest Gate station and the Elizabeth line are just a few minutes’ walk away, making central London incredibly accessible, and Wanstead Park station is also close by. We’ve loved being able to walk to Wanstead Flats and Jubilee Pond, as well as having a great selection of independent cafés, bakeries, restaurants, pubs and everyday amenities nearby.
The house itself has been a warm and welcoming home. All three bedrooms are doubles, giving plenty of flexibility and space. We have redecorated throughout and invested in bespoke fitted cabinetry, which adds character and useful storage. There’s also a large, dry basement for additional storage, plus useful space for bike storage in the front garden.
The garden has been a lovely part of the home, with an apple tree, raspberries and rhubarb to enjoy. We’ve also been fortunate to have friendly neighbours, adding to the real sense of community.
We’ll particularly miss the combination of the house, the neighbourhood and having so much on our doorstep, and hope the next owners will enjoy making it their home as much as we have."
