Comment from Robert Reed of Gascoigne Halman

Meadow House is a hugely appealing period farmhouse which occupies a secluded position in Spurstow, yet close to village amenities in nearby Bunbury and Tarporley.

The house has been extended over the years, and now provides spacious, well proportioned and elegant accommodation arranged over two floors.

The house has much character, including period windows, some exposed ceiling timbers, and brick fireplaces, and has a generally light and airy feel to the living space with large windows overlooking the gardens. What I love is the flexibility of the layout. There are three reception rooms which provide different families with great options to adapt the space to their own particular needs. Upstairs there are four bedrooms and a large family bathroom.

The house has been competitively priced and this is in recognition that the house now requires elements of capital expenditure and modernisation, whilst also providing a sound base to move in on day one and enjoy.

The property is approached off the lane and via a gravelled drive to a parking area beside the house. The gardens surround the house albeit are predominantly to the north and east of the building, and have matured over the years to provide a lovely private setting with lawns and dense floral and herbaceous borders supporting a variety of flowering trees and shrubs.

Detached houses in Spurstow are really rare, so I anticipate excellent interest in this really lovely home.

Location

Spurstow is a very attractive semi rural village only ten minutes drive from Tarporley village centre, fifteen minutes from the centre of Nantwich and one mile from Bunbury Primary School. A day nursery is within 400 yards of the house. Spurstow lies in close proximity to Bunbury - a delightful village with the convenience of a refurbished Co-op convenience store, three public houses and a beautiful historic Church which dates back over 1,000 years. There is also a cricket club and modern medical centre. Of particular note is Bunbury Primary School that enjoys an excellent reputation for academic excellence and is aided by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers. Bunbury Primary School also feeds into Tarporley High School.

The nearby village of Tarporley provides a wider range of amenities and the whole area is well placed for the business traveller with many commercial centres including Manchester, Liverpool, Crewe, Warrington and Nantwich, all being found within comfortable commuting distance.

Railway Stations can be found at Crewe, Chester and Nantwich, with London readily accessible from Crewe. Manchester and Liverpool Airports are found within a maximum of an hours drive. For those with an interest in historical cities, Chester City centre can be reached in within approximately 25 minutes. For those with leisure pursuits there are many golf clubs in the area whilst the sandstone trail is ideal for those with a love of walking and the outdoors.

Despite the rural location the area is extremely accessible for all areas of commerce throughout the North West including the Chester Business Park, Deeside Industrial Park, Crewe Commercial Park and Wrexham Industrial Estate. Liverpool and Manchester are both within daily travelling distance courtesy of the M53 & M56 motorway and the M6 motorway is 15 miles distant. To the south the A49/A41 connects with the M54 allowing ease of access to The Potteries, Telford, Wolverhampton and Birmingham. Liverpool and Manchester airports are 30 and 34 miles respectively and for travel to London there is a 1 hr 35 mins rail service from Crewe station to Euston.

Directions

From our office in the centre of Tarporley take a left turn out of the village in the direction of Nantwich and proceed until reaching a junction with the A49. At this point turn left onto the A49 and upon reaching the crossroads with the Rasoi Indian Restaurent on your right, take a right turn onto A49 Whitchurch. Proceed through the village of Beeston and having passed The former Wild Boar Hotel on the left hand side continue straight on. Having passed Bunbury Heath and the 30mph speed camera you will then enter into Spurstow. After passing Panama Hatties there will be a left turn into Badcocks Lane. The property will be clearly identified by a Gascoigne Halman for sale board on the right hand side.
