Property Insight
A substantial detached family home of around 2,185 sq ft, set well back behind a brick-paved driveway on a deep, mature plot in one of Fowlmere’s quieter corners. Rendered and part brick-faced under a pantiled roof, with a detached double garage to the side, it offers genuinely flexible accommodation and a sensible run of reception rooms rather than a single open-plan space.
A generous entrance hall with a turned staircase and excellent storage opens to the principal rooms. The living room is dual-aspect with a statement fireplace and French doors to the garden, while a separate sitting room, also with garden doors, gives families a second place to gather. A formal dining room sits off the hall, and a study takes a window to the front and makes a quiet home office. The kitchen is fitted with cream units and granite worktops and connects to a generous breakfast room with its own garden doors, with a separate utility and a ground-floor cloakroom beyond - keeping laundry and boots out of the kitchen itself.
Upstairs are five bedrooms. The principal carries a recently appointed en-suite shower room, the guest bedroom has a second en-suite, and three further bedrooms are served by a family bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower. Outside, the rear garden is a real feature - wrap around, enclosed and laid mainly to lawn, with a brick-paved terrace, a raised pond, a timber garden store and mature trees screening the boundaries. Solar panels to the roof and an EV charging point add a practical, running-cost benefit as well.

Location - Fowlmere
Fowlmere is one of the southernmost villages in Cambridgeshire, on the edge of Hertfordshire, 6 miles from Royston and under 10 miles from central Cambridge - around ten and twenty minutes’ drive respectively. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside while remaining within easy reach of both town and city. Within the village there are several village greens and playgrounds, a village hall with tennis courts, a village church, a playgroup, private nursery and primary school, a number of village groups, and The Chequers, a well-regarded village pub and restaurant. On the outskirts is the Fowlmere rspb nature reserve.
Royston’s mainline station runs direct to London Kings Cross in as little as 38 minutes, with further options from neighbouring Meldreth and Foxton. The Cambridge Biomedical Campus and Addenbrooke’s are around 8 miles away, the M11 is within a 10-minute drive, the A1 around 25 minutes, and Stansted and Luton airports are both half an hour to forty minutes away.
