About this property
Set within the sought-after village of Checkendon, this detached bungalow presents a rare opportunity, coming to the market for the first time since it was built in the early 1960s and having remained in the same ownership ever since.
The property has clearly been a much-loved home for many years and now presents an exciting opportunity for its next owner. Currently arranged as a three-bedroom bungalow, it offers comfortable accommodation as it stands, together with considerable potential to extend, remodel or potentially redevelop, subject to the necessary planning permissions.
The house is approached via a generous driveway providing ample parking and is surrounded by an established garden. A separate side driveway leads through to the rear of the plot, where there is a paddock, stables and a range of useful outbuildings.
Extending to approximately 1.1 acres in total, the combination of the generous plot, paddock, equestrian facilities and independent access makes this a particularly versatile proposition, whether retaining and enhancing the existing home or creating something more substantial for the future.
Location
Situated in a country lane in this picturesque vibrant village with an active community, which offers Checkendon Primary school & church and a delightful village green with a playground and the well-regarded Equestrian Centre. In addition, the nearby village of Stoke Row offers a village shop and garage. There are a wide selection of pubs/restaurants close by to include the Crooked Billet, Cherry Tree & Highwayman.
The town of Henley on Thames offers a comprehensive range of shopping facilities together with 3 screen cinema and theatre. The railway station has direct links with London Paddington via Twyford (55 mins). The larger town of Reading is within easy driving distance and offers a rail service to London Paddington (22 mins). The area is well served for schools including Shiplake College, The Oratory, Pangbourne College, Cranford School, Moulsford Preparatory School and Queen Anne’s.
