Owners Comments....
We have lived on Oliver Drive for 20 years, and Calcot has been a wonderful place to raise our family. What first drew us here two decades ago has rewarded us with many happy moments, and we hope the next owners will enjoy it just as much.
For anyone commuting, the easy access to the M4 is ideal. Day to day, Sainsbury’s, Boots and a gym are all within a 15-minute walk, sitting right beside a large park, and there is an abundance of green spaces within easy walking distance – no car required.
The woods are just a five-minute walk from the house and join a country walk to the village of Sulham, which makes this a lovely place for anyone who wants to unwind in nature. For families, there is a wide choice of schools nearby, from nursery right through to secondary.
The side passage means muddy boots from winter walks never need to come through the main house. The multipurpose outbuilding is one of the home’s real strengths: Fully insulated, with power and an ethernet connection, it houses our washing machine and dryer, doubles as a boot and drying room, and makes a quiet home office away from the main house.
The back garden is big enough for the family to relax and play, yet easy to look after. Inside, the rooms are well proportioned, and because of how the house is built the internal walls are non-load-bearing, so the layout can be reconfigured with little building work.
With a young family, we found having a separate bath and shower worked really well. When we needed more space, rather than moving to a larger home we added a cosy sleeping area above the rear bedroom.
The wood-burning stove has been the heart of the home and the focal point of every Christmas we have celebrated here.
Area Comments....
Calcot offers a fantastic balance of convenience and green space, with excellent access to the M4 and everyday amenities including Sainsbury's, Boots and a gym all within a 15-minute walk. The nearby woodland is just five minutes away and offers lovely countryside walks towards Sulham, while the abundance of parks and nearby schools makes this a great location for families and commuters alike.
Tom's Comments....
My favourite part of this home has to be the living/dining room. Its dual aspect allows plenty of natural light to flow through, creating a wonderfully welcoming space, with the feature log burner adding warmth and character. The property also offers plenty of practical features, including a versatile insulated outbuilding, useful side access and a lovely garden. Combined with the potential to adapt the internal layout to suit individual needs, this is a home with plenty to offer its next owners.
