Westlea Rise is a development of 2,3, and 4-bedroom new homes in Swindon, designed to appeal to a range of buyers, including families and commuters.

The product mix of terraced, semi-detached and detached houses encompasses a range of styles and offers a high specification with quality fixtures and fittings. All homes have generous gardens and come with garages, or parking. The development also incorporates open space for the enjoyment of residents.

For families, there are a number of schools near the development, including Shaw Ridge Primary School, Westlea Primary School and Lydiard Park Academy. Post-16 education providers include Swindon College and New College, while universities can be found in the nearby cities of Oxford, Bath and Bristol.

There are several shops within walking distance, including a supermarket a couple of minutes walk away and West Swindon Shopping Centre, around 10 minutes walk away, which has a superstore, independent and high-street retailers, cafés and takeaways.

For greater retail choice Swindon Designer Outlet is a five-minute drive from Westlea Rise and Swindon town centre is less than 10 minutes away by car. Both are popular shopping destinations and offer a variety of stores, restaurants and cafés catering to all tastes. The town centre also has two shopping malls – the Parade and the Brunel – as well as a covered market, which takes place six days a week.

In addition to its busy commercial heart, Swindon has green space in abundance, with public parks including Lawns Park, Town Gardens and Queen’s Park incorporating walking and cycling trails, flower gardens and play areas.

Coate Water Country Park and Shaw Forest Park provide habitats for a range of wildlife and plants, while the latter also has facilities for fishing, golf and bird watching. Lydiard Park, around two miles to the west of the proposed development, is a country estate covering 260 acres and includes Lydiard House, which dates back to the Middle Ages.

Lydiard Park plays host to open-air theatre during the summer, while year-round drama, comedy, dance and concerts take place in town at the Wyvern Theatre and the Swindon Arts Centre. Entertainment venue Meca and the Oasis Leisure Centre host music events and family shows, while the leisure centre is also a sporting venue with two swimming pools, a gym, exercise studio and football pitches.

Major roads easily accessible from Westlea Rise include the M4 (around 10 minutes drive to junction 16) for travel to London, Reading, Bristol, Cardiff and Swansea, and the A419 for Cirencester. Swindon Railway Station lies three miles from the development and regular services run from there to London Paddington (journey time of just under an hour), Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea and Reading.
