Wantage is home to several well-regarded primary schools and a well-thought-of secondary school. Standout primary schools include Charlton Primary School, which sits just under a mile from the development, and GEMS Wantage Primary School. The latter sits just a few hundred yards from the development, making it easy to access for prospective parents and students. The secondary school in Wantage is King Alfred's Academy. Named after the Wantage-born monarch, this school takes care of children from 11 onwards and is around 1.5 miles from the Yellow Fields development.

Sitting close to major routes including the B4507, A417, A338, and junction 14 of the M4, Wantage is perfectly placed for business and leisure travellers. The town's location and close proximity to major destinations, including Oxford and Swindon, means that it's an ideal base for a commuter. While the town doesn't have its own train station, it does sit close to Didcot Parkway. From here, London Paddington is just over 40 minutes away direct or just over an hour away with a connection at Bristol Parkway. The closest airport to the development is London Heathrow around 40 miles away.

Birthplace of famed monarch King Alfred the Great, Wantage is a town steeped in history. This history can be seen in the statue dedicated to King Alfred, commissioned by Lord Wantage in the 19th century, as well as at the Parish Church. Deeper study can also be completed at the Vale and Downland. This museum gives guests an insight into the past and present culture of the town. More active pursuits can also be undertaken in Wantage, including cycling as part of the Corallian Cycling Club, undertaking swimming and fitness classes at Wantage Leisure Centre, and visiting Betjeman Millennium Park for a day out. A chalkstone stream can also be found at Letcombe Brook, and this is a rare sight for the public.

Named as Britain's Best Town Centre in 2014, Wantage has the shops you'd expect from a town this size. The difference between this and other nearby locations, is that a quality shopping experience is created without compromising the area's rural aesthetic. Major high street stores, including travel agents, fashion outlets, and health stores, are complemented by independent shops run by local people. For dining, there's plenty of choice for homeowners. Exceptional Italian food is available from La Fontana and the Wildwood Restaurant, while Masooms is a premier destination for India-inspired dishes. Well-known food outlets can also be found in the award-winning town centre.
