The village lies close to the junction of the A420 Oxford to Swindon route and the A415, Abingdon to Witney road. The A40 and M40 are a few miles away. There are buses to Oxford and other destinations. The nearest station is Radley, some eight miles away, which offers a service to London Paddington taking as little as an hour. From Oxford station, there are frequent services to several centres of business and commerce, including Birmingham New Street, Leeds and Manchester Piccadilly. These road and rail connections make Kingston Bagpuize a desirable commuter location, with the bonus of village calm and a real community spirit.

The historic university city of Oxford needs no introduction, and is easy to visit by car or public transport. There is a park and ride site close to the A420. But there are many other attractions in the Vale of the White Horse, including English Heritage and National Trust properties, while the Ridgeway Path and Thames Path are among many other popular outdoor destinations.

There is a wealth of schools, including pre- and nursery, Church of England and independent, within easy reach. The closest include the primary schools, John Blandy and Longworth, while those for older pupils are mostly in or around the Abingdon area. GPs can be found in Abingdon, and services at John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington, Oxford, include A&E.
