Tired of family disagreements Vice Stjepović-Skočibuha decided in 1561 to build his own castle in Suđurađ.
The larger house is a one storey building made of cut stone whose facade was given a special attention. In this house lived Vice with his family. The smaller house was built for a family of monk. The chapel is located next to the southern part of the family building.
The house of Vice Skočibuha on the Suđurađ was built in less than a year.
This complex still included a mill, a tank, storage rooms, a terrace pavilion, bridge and fortified entrance, and a high boundary wall with a wooden walkway, which has not survived.
The internal layout of rooms, wall sinks and cabinets, the fireplace on the ground floor and first floor, occasional stone benches, and some stone pillars of the garden walkway… All this is in a good shape.
The little which is left from the end of the 16th century indicates professionalism, elegance, comfort, harmony and purposefulness of life and activity of Vice Stjepović Skočibuha.
