Description of the buildings


The property is composed of the villa, the dependance and a building with a garage and the housekeeper’s house.
Inside an architectonic complex that used to be a convent, there is most of a black and white mosaic floor. The floor measures 6 x 3,60 x 5,65 x 3,10 m and dates back to around the 1st-2nd centuries ad.
Originally the mosaic decorated a very large room, probably belonging to a suburban villa. In this area some Roman structures were discovered at the end of the 18th century and it was supposed that Pliny’s villa was there, too (according to the Authority for Conservation of the Archaeological Heritage).

The villa has a surface of approx. 960 square metres and is laid out on four levels.
Lower ground floor: Internal access from the sitting room and external access to the pool. Going down to the left, you will find a room with a stunning mosaic floor, then there are three rooms with brick vaults dating back to the 16th century and a cantina with brick groin vault ceiling.

Two toilets, dining room, kitchen with direct access to the garden, pantry and access to the technical rooms.
A very bright 16th century staircase leads to the first floor, where there is the central corridor with authentic 16th century vault. Study with a view, four bedrooms with changing rooms, hallway and bathroom.
Second floor: Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, changing room, set-up for a larger kitchen and sitting room.

The dependance dates back to the 18th century, has a surface of 170 square metres on two levels and it has an independent entry with a 18th-century wooden oven.
It is made up of entrance room, kitchen, living room, bathroom, sitting room, a bedroom, attic room, bedroom, changing room and a bathroom.

The third building has a surface of 160 sqm and includes four heated garages with bathroom and the housekeeper’s house with kitchen/living room, bathroom and two bedrooms. This building has a vegetable garden.
