Casalincontrada - chieti province
Located at 330 metres above sea level, Casalincontrada is a delightful village, set on a hill between the Alento and Pescara Rivers. The agricultural fields surrounding Casalincontrada are rich in crops and, in particular, olive groves.
The town still hosts a few medieval, structures including the 15th century city gate and baronial palace. Some of its houses are built from earth (a mixture of straw, water and clay), which was a type of construction, used in several Abruzzo areas, until after World War II. There is even a centre, in the town hall, which documents the construction and preservation of this craft.
The population is 3,022 and is served by food shops, post office, pharmacies, bank, bars and pizzeria/restaurant.
