The Cinque Terre are one of most beautiful Mediterranean areas within Liguria. Being a particularly steep and rocky coast full of bays and inlets, the beaches are not very numerous though all of exceptional charm, each different from the other. The largest of these is that of Monterosso.
The Cinque Terre have been included within the National Natural Park since 1999 as well as being designated as a protected natural marine area.
