"Burj Binghatti Jacob and Co Residences is a 557 metre, 104 storey residential tower under construction in Business Bay, Dubai, developed by Binghatti Developers in partnership with the jeweller and watchmaker Jacob and Co. On completion it is intended to be the tallest residential building in the world, taking that title from Central Park Tower in New York. The building sits over seven basement levels of parking and is estimated to hold around 304 residences. Every home in the tower has its own private infinity pool on its terrace. The residences are named after Jacob and Co timepieces and run from quarter floor villas through half floor sky mansions to full floor and duplex sky penthouses.
The Ruby Villa is the three bedroom and sits higher in the tower than either two bedroom, on levels 49 to 82. It occupies a quarter of a floor and runs to 3,299 sq ft, made up of 2,090 sq ft of interior suite area and a 1,209 sq ft terrace holding the private infinity pool. Accommodation is three bedrooms and four bathrooms with two parking bays. The interior is 20 per cent larger than the Emerald's while the terrace is 24 per cent smaller, so the Ruby is the better plan for anyone who wants living space rather than outdoor space. The brochure offers it in four orientations rather than the two available lower down, covering Downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa, Creek Harbour and Dubai Design District, and side aspects of each. Levels 49 to 82 put every Ruby above the whole of the villa band.
The published service list covers concierge, butler, chauffeur, bodyguard and private chef services, a lobby lounge, infinity pool, spa, gymnasium and training services, food and beverage outlets, daycare and housekeeping and cleaning. Entry is by titanium access card with a separate parking access card. Important: The brochure carries a footnote stating that some of these features are a la carte services, meaning they are charged separately rather than included. Binghatti has not published which are which, so none of them should be presented to a buyer as included in the purchase until that list is confirmed.
Interiors were designed by Jacob Arabo and by Roman Vnoukov exclusively for Jacob and Co, with the architectural concept design credited to Muhammad Binghatti. The brochure sets out a finishes palette of velvet fabric in dusky blue, royal blue and sapphire blue, white fluted and white scalloped panelling, tinted brown and tinted violet glass, mirror glass, wood panel and fluted wood panel, leather and black snake skin texture, with Nero Marquina, Black River, Asian St Laurent and Calacatta Borghini marble, polished Calacatta Borghini porcelain slab, brass metal, glossy black panel, and stainless steel in brushed and ripple finishes. The developer states that all finishes are subject to change.
The tower stands in Business Bay beside the Dubai Water Canal, on the Al Khail Road side of the district and directly south of Downtown Dubai. The brochure's location map places it between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road with Downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa to the north, Al Jaddaf and the Dubai Canal to the south east, and Jumeirah Beach to the west. The brochure names Dubai Design District, Dubai Creek Harbour and the Business Bay Marina Yacht Club as its immediate neighbours. The brochure does not publish drive times to any of them, so none are quoted here.
