Zoopla reveals its most popular properties of Lockdown 3.0
With Friday 5th February marking one month since England began its third lockdown along with similar restrictions in England and Wales coming into force, Zoopla, has revealed the properties that have most caught the eye during this period. With prices ranging from £95,000 to a staggering £54,500,000, it’s clear that home hunters have been using their time at home to lust over a wide range of properties.
A period four bedroom home on sale in Liverpool for £425,000 takes the crown as the UK’s most viewed property during the third lockdown. The property features a number of charming original features including decorative mosaic floor tiles, large sash windows and stained glass windows. In second place is another Liverpool property, although this one comes with a more hefty price tag of £1,500,000. The five bedroom architecturally designed property has a modern interior, with a highlight being the spacious terrace with stunning views of the River Mersey.
For those looking for something more affordable,a three bedroom end terraced home for sale for £95,000 in Scunthorpe is Yorkshire and The Humber’s most viewed property and ranks in fourth place nationally. Ideally suited to first-time buyers and well below the UK’s average house price of £223,700*, the property is close to local amenities and has great transport links.
Prime properties are also capturing the attention of the nation with a luxurious twelve bedroom mega mansion also featuring in the top ten. On sale for a staggering £54,500,000, this superb home is one of Mayfair’s original mansions. The Grade II listed townhouse was constructed in 1732, before being refurbished in 1908 by famed architect Ralph Knott, who was responsible for building the famous County Hall in London. The house has an enviable spa and one of Mayfair’s largest private swimming pools, while the property is close to the expansive green spaces of Hyde Park.
Also featuring in the top ten is a beautiful four bedroom Georgian apartment located in Edinburgh’s famous New Town. The apartment, which is brimming with character, has period features throughout including marble fireplaces, working shutters and intricate plaster work, while the property is a short walk to Edinburgh’s shopping district.
For those dreaming of an escape to the country, a two bed detached house in Isle of Skye is surely the perfect pad. Located near the waterfront and with spectacular views out to the sea and mountains, the property is located five miles to the village of Staffin, which has a popular sandy beach.
Tom Parker, Consumer Spokesperson at Zoopla comments: “With yet another lockdown firmly in place many of us are understandably using the additional time at home to look at property online. It’s clear that there are two types of property browsers, those on the hunt for their next step on the property ladder, and those looking for some escapism and searching for a luxurious mansion or a place in the country.”
