base property specialists, our East London lettings specialist agency, was established by property industry veterans An Deckers and Kristjan Byfield. Frustrated at the time by the prevalent industry practices and the lack of transparency, An and Kristjan found common ground in their desire to deliver better service to clients. This shared vision led to the founding of base property specialists in 2004.

Over two decades, base has weathered economic downturns and global health crises, always guided by a commitment to empathy and understanding in all interactions. This dedication is reflected in our exceptional track record, including maintaining some of the lowest instances of rental arrears in the UK. Last year we marked our 20th anniversary with a major celebration in Shoreditch, bringing together family, friends, clients, tenants, suppliers, and industry professionals to honour two decades of service excellence.
