Village life at its best
Wheaton Aston can trace its history back to Norman times, but it became a busier place with the arrival of the canal, built by Thomas Telford in the 1830’s. Today it is a thriving community, with a wide range of local amenities.
The local village school, St. Mary’s C of E First Academy, which is within walking distance of Bridge View, was rated “Good” in the latest Ofsted report. There is a wide choice of both state run and independent secondary schools within a short drive.
For everyday shopping needs, there is a local shop and post office just down the road in Long Street, whilst the local Spar is less than ten minutes’ walk away. The village also has a doctor’s surgery, a pharmacy, a garage and two friendly local pubs. There are regular buses to both Stafford and Wolverhampton, which leave from the Greenhill Lane bus stops just outside the development.
Stafford is just a short drive away and is home to a wide range of supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the County hospital. Stafford railway station has regular direct trains to London Euston with a journey time of around one hour and twenty minutes. Wolverhampton and Telford are just a little further away from the development.
