Written applications only; The Trustees of the Freshwater and Totland War Memorial Bungalow Trust offer a rare opportunity to rent a 2 bedroom, unfurnished semi-detached, Trust owned, bungalow located on the edge of Freshwater village. There is off road parking. Available as an Assured Shorthold Tenancy from March 2026, the Trustees have some discretion as to the final rent asked.
The Trustees hope to approve a Tenancy either for someone who has needs relating to health/mobility/disability or someone who faces a challenge of finding a home due to financial hardship. The property may suit someone who needs a second bedroom in order to accommodate a carer or someone who needs accommodation to be on one level or someone with genuinely limited means and is therefore unable to find a secure tenancy.
To qualify for consideration Applicants must already be resident either in the Parish of Freshwater or the Parish of Totland or have long established ties to the Parishes.
The Trustees will look to give preference to Applicants who may be in need, distress or hardship and who would benefit from the assurance of finding a long-term home. Where more than one Applicant meets the Trusts aims and the charitable objective, preference may be given to applicants who have served with the Armed Forces of the Crown (please note this is a secondary criteria). The Trust properties have historical links to nursing in the area, so this association may also be used for determining preference.
Applications are to be made in writing and should be sent to Managing Agents:
Spence Willard, the square, yarmouth, PO41 0NP by Midnight Friday 20th February 2026 .
When writing, Applicants should give as much detail as possible on their personal situation and the reason for wanting to rent the bungalow (please refer to the qualification above). Only written applications will be considered. The Trustees will consider each application on individual merit. Where the Trustees feel that an application could be taken further, Spence Willard will arrange a viewing.
Any agreement will be subject to acceptable references and contract.
