Turnberry, South Ayrshire is known worldwide as one of the iconic Open Championship Golf resorts, situated on the Firth of Clyde coastline, southwest Scotland. Historically it has been through 2 World Wars with its now disused aircraft runway serving the military whilst the hotel served for a period as a hospital.
