The local area guide to living in Parsons Green

Parsons Green is a wealthy area of London, situated in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It’s named for the village green, which used to house the vicar of Fulham.

Much of the local architecture is made up of Victorian and Edwardian houses, which are popular amongst families. The many green spaces in the area attract parents with young children, although the proximity to the City and the West End also make it an area popular with young professionals.

Parsons Green is regarded as one of the city’s safest places, which has resulted in a rise in house prices. Catering to its well-off residents, the area has seen an influx of boutique and designer shops, members clubs, champagne bars and fine dining restaurants.

For younger children, Thomas’s Preparatory School takes boys and girls from two and a half years old.

For secondary school, students again have a mix of state and public options. Lady Margaret School For Girls and London Oratory School are two of the single-gender secondary schools, although the latter has a mixed-sex sixth form.
