Tidworth’s postcode was named the most desirable in England by Royal Mail in 2014, after a study conducted by the Centre for Economic and Business Research. The combination of low crime rates and a high quality of life put Tidworth and its surrounding villages at the top of the heap. Comfortably positioned in the heart of the picturesque Wiltshire countryside, Tidworth’s population is approximately 12,000. It’s within easy commuting distance for towns including Salisbury, Reading, and London, offering residents the best of urban and rural lifestyles.

Nearby landmarks include Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, and the Old Sarum Castle, while within the charming town limits you’ll find historic sites of interest including Tedworth House and St Mary’s Mortuary Chapel. The Tidworth Polo Club and Tidworth Garrison Golf Club offer prestigious sport and recreation opportunities utilizing the local greenery to its best effect. The school was designed by London architect group BDP, offering state-of-the-art facilities. It was rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in its 2010 inspection and exam results have been consistently high. There is a Wellington Primary Academy opened recently in 2014 to complement the secondary school.

Tidworth offers residents a very convenient location that combines rural living with easy access to several urban centres. The closest train station is a 20 minute taxi ride away in Andover, where residents can find direct rail services to numerous destinations throughout the UK.

There are also ample coach services linking Tidworth with Andover, Salisbury, Swindon, and smaller villages. Coach operators include Wheelers, Go South Coast, and others. It’s simple to get around the area by car, as Tidworth is situated near the A303 with swift access to the M3 motorway.

It’s a two hour drive into central London, just under an hour to Southampton, and only 30 minutes into Salisbury.
