The Olympic medallist has hung a 'For sale' sign on his home in Bolton, and it’s a two-for-one deal with a house and a bungalow up for grabs.
Boxer Amir Khan has put his sprawling home in Lostock, Bolton, back on the market. He originally listed it in 2017, but decided to pause the sale before making an appearance on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Khan then returned to the ring in the welterweight category to beat Phil Lo Greco and Samuel Vargas.
While his home packs a punch, it seems Khan is now ready to move on.
What’s the property like?
It's a two-for-one deal, comprising a recently-redesigned four-bedroom detached bungalow and a two-bedroom detached house, both located on one substantial plot of land. Together, they provide an impressive 6,600 sq ft of living space.
The house, known as the Pool House, has been perfectly configured for Khan’s boxing needs, with a ground floor that boasts a swimming pool (complete with a boxing gloves mosaic), steam room and a fully kitted out gym with air conditioning and surround sound speakers.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms as well as an enormous open-plan kitchen and living area that’s ideal for entertaining thanks to a home cinema system and pool table. And if you like the look of the furnishings, you could be in luck, as it may be available fully furnished, subject to negotiations.
The bungalow currently functions as the main family home and has recently undergone a luxurious £200k renovation with décor from an interior design specialist. It’s currently set up with three bedrooms, with what would be the fourth used as a plush dressing room. There’s four bathrooms, three of which are ensuites.
A brand new kitchen has been fitted with opulent extras, including granite work surfaces, Neff appliances and a Zip instant boiling water tap. The living room, dining room and conservatory have all been given glamorous make-overs with neutral colour palettes that make them perfect for relaxing in after a long training session.
Where is it?
The house and bungalow sit on Garsdale Lane, which is located directly off Chorley New Road, in one of Bolton’s most sought-after areas. Chorley New Road runs directly into Bolton, while the nearby M61 takes you into Manchester in around half an hour if the traffic is good.
How much is it on for?
You’ll need to rack up a few professional boxing matches if you want to snap up Khan’s home. He’s hoping to offload it for £1.5m through Cardwells Sales, Lettings & Management.
It’s way over the current £443,385 average value for a detached property in Lostock.
What else is interesting about the area?
Along with Heaton and Edgworth, Lostock is known for being one of the most expensive areas in Bolton. With both public and private schools, a train station, shops, health care facilities and sports amenities all within easy reach, it’s not hard to see why it’s popular.
