Blackpool, Lincoln and Hull have been named the most affordable places in the UK for first-time buyers.

The average house price in Blackpool stands at £112,000 compared with the average first-time buyer household income of £39,611 in north west England. 

That's according to the Post Office, which looked at the affordability of properties for aspiring homeowners in more than 80 locations around the UK.
